Great overview of Combined Cycle for the layman

This was a great book for a layperson such as myself in understanding combined cycle powerplants. It explains the economic reasons why these power plants are more efficient, and goes into detail on each of the major engineered equipment pieces of this plant, and how they relate to one another. Explains things well in parts where the book is technical. Highly recommended for a layperson.

Good overview of the combined cycle process

This book is a good overview of the combined cycle process. It saves the equations for the end of the book and spends most of the text discussing concepts. The case studies at the end of the book are particularly interesting. The section on Integrated Gasification and Combined Cycle was useful because it discussed differences in design theory for each of the major manufacturers. Unfortunately the previous chapters did not spend as much time discussing differences in manufacturer designs.
